Electrical Engineer (1933-2014)

Jack Lampkin worked on electrical and control systems for diesel electric locomotives at GE’s Erie, PA plant. He loved engineering and it’s history, he amassed a special collection of artifacts and models of full sized items covering every form of technology in history.

His collection was quite a task as cataloging all technology ever made is not an easy thing to do! The Edison Tech Center received Mr. Lampkin’s collection starting in 2011. It is currently stored and will be displayed to the public after new public space is secured. Jack Lampkin loved tinkering and had a basic curiosity for all mechanical and electrical things. You will see that much of the Edison Tech Center’s online curriculum (Resources page section) is modeled after Mr. Lampkin’s system.
