Engineering Hall of Fame

Learn about the amazing and visionary engineers who have shaped our world. Below is our alphabetical directory of the Engineering Hall of Fame — scientists, inventors, and engineers whose work built the foundations of modern electrical and mechanical engineering.

The engineers and volunteers at the Edison Tech Center have selected a list of the most admired engineers in their fields and we have listed them below. In some cases we have unique photos of these people given by their families or the Schenectady Museum (MiSci).

The Edison Tech Center has been a major supporter of oral histories by engineers in the electrical and mechanical engineering fields. We have worked with the IEEE, ASME, AIME and IFAC over the years on projects. We have interviewed almost 100 people from Schenectady to San Francisco to Moscow and captured their life stories, and life’s work. These oral histories appear in our “Tech Reflections” and “Schenectady Techsplorer” video series on our YouTube channel.
